“英”為有你 “語”眾不同
本學(xué)期我校首次加入蘇州市教育局組織的“外教課堂”品牌項(xiàng)目,項(xiàng)目外教定期來我校為一系同學(xué)們帶來生動有趣的英語口語課,激發(fā)學(xué)生英語學(xué)習(xí)興趣,提高英語口語表達(dá)能力,進(jìn)一步拓寬學(xué)生國際視野,跨文化交流學(xué)習(xí)。
本學(xué)期Marcus和Eathan兩位項(xiàng)目外教定期來我校教授英語口語課。
課堂上同學(xué)們從一開始的默不作聲,通過外教老師地道的發(fā)音,風(fēng)趣幽默的引導(dǎo),友好互動和適時(shí)點(diǎn)評,交流話題從自我探究到學(xué)科規(guī)劃到各國文化分享等等,慢慢地我們的學(xué)生開始小聲討論了,開始有同學(xué)舉手回答問題了,開始大膽和外教交流互動了,課堂里氣氛活躍,笑聲不斷,學(xué)生們在這樣輕松愉快的氛圍中產(chǎn)生了對英語學(xué)習(xí)的興趣,增強(qiáng)了英語表達(dá)能力和自信心???,我們的學(xué)生在上課前全班同學(xué)還給Eathan表演了他們新學(xué)的英文歌曲《Dream it possible》,帥氣的大男孩連連給他們豎起了大拇指。

I have absolutely loved teaching and working with the students at Suzhou Early Childhood Education College. I have felt welcome from the start and feel excited by every lesson I have. I am also extremely grateful to everyone at the school for treating me with so much kindness!
我非常喜歡在蘇州幼專工作,和這里的學(xué)生們一起學(xué)習(xí)和成長。我從一開始就感到受歡迎,我對上每一節(jié)課都感到興奮。我也非常感謝學(xué)校里的每一個(gè)人都對我都十分友好!
In the first lesson that we had together, we did quite a lot of ‘ice-breakers’ to get to know each other better, as this is a conversational English class and I needed to understand the English abilities of the students. We also spoke of the different subjects that the students are learning and will teach. I think that this class was useful for me and the students to get to know each other better.
在第一節(jié)課上,我們做了很多“破冰”游戲來更好地了解彼此,因?yàn)檫@是一門英語口語課,我需要了解學(xué)生們的英語能力。我們也談到了學(xué)生們正在學(xué)習(xí)和將要教授的不同科目。我覺得這節(jié)課幫助我和學(xué)生們更好地了解了彼此。
In the lesson, students spoke about different countries and about Chinese festivals. They took part in a variety of activities to encourage speaking, explaining and critical thinking. Students applied themselves eagerly and paid great attention to the class, making it a fun and engaging lesson. I am happy that almost every student in class got a chance to speak and did so happily, showcasing their language abilities in the process.
在課堂上學(xué)生們還一起討論了不同的國家和中國的節(jié)日。并通過各種課堂活動,來提高他們的表達(dá)、解釋和思考能力。學(xué)生們熱情參與,注意力高度集中,呈現(xiàn)出一節(jié)有趣和吸引人的課程。我很高興班上幾乎每個(gè)學(xué)生都有機(jī)會發(fā)言,并在這個(gè)愉快的過程中展示了他們的語言能力。
In our final lesson of the semester, we focused a lot on transportation. We spoke about differing forms of transport and their pros and cons, public transportation and private transportation. The students were split into two teams and engaged in a debate about which form of transport (public or private) is better, an activity that encouraged critical thinking and promoted a willingness to speak. Students also watched a video about transport in London and were asked to seek out the differences and similarities in transport between London and Suzhou.
在這學(xué)期的最后一節(jié)課上,主題是交通運(yùn)輸。我們談到了公共交通和私人交通兩種不同的交通方式及其利弊。學(xué)生們被分成兩個(gè)小組,進(jìn)行一場關(guān)于哪種交通方式更好的辯論,這是一項(xiàng)促進(jìn)思維能力和鼓勵(lì)發(fā)言意愿的活動。學(xué)生們還觀看了一段關(guān)于倫敦交通的視頻,并被要求找出倫敦和蘇州之間交通上的差異和相似之處。
Overall, I am very proud of the students for their engagement in class. I know that learning a new language is difficult and speaking it in front of so many people can be very daunting. That aside, I hope that the class feels more comfortable to speak and voice their opinions next semester. Sometimes their shyness gets in the way of practicing English. It is my first time teaching college students and I have learnt a lot, which I am grateful for. I am looking forward to learning more together next semester!
總之,我為學(xué)生們的課堂參與感到非常自豪。我知道學(xué)習(xí)一門新的語言是很困難的,在這么多的人面前說它是需要勇氣的。我希望他們能在下學(xué)期的課堂里更順暢地表達(dá)自己的觀點(diǎn)。有時(shí),他們的害羞會妨礙他們練習(xí)英語。這是我第一次教大學(xué)生,我也學(xué)到了很多,非常感謝。我期待下學(xué)期能和你們一起學(xué)習(xí)更多的知識!

The foreign teacher's class offered a fascinating glimpse into different cultures and perspectives, enriching our understanding of the world beyond our local context, thanks to his unique background and experiences. Our language skills significantly improved through engaging lessons and reallife conversations, as the teacher's native English proficiency works as an excellent model to refine our pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. Moreover, the class was never dull or monotonous, due to the teacher's employment of a variety of interactive and dynamic teaching methods, such as roleplaying, group discussions, and cultural games, which kept us engagedand motivated.——俞月
The foreign teacher took the time to understand each student's strengths, weaknesses,and interests, providing a personalized learning experience that allowed us to learn a our own pace and focus on areas needing improvement. Additionally,the teacher encouraged critical thinking and open-ended questions, nurturing our ability to analyze, evaluate,form our own opinions.
